**I had an entire blog post written, and then it didn't save**
UGH, sorry if this little update is subpar.
I think I'm going to fall back into the monthly post trend, and yes it's well into November, and honestly if I wasn't leaving for an international trip tomorrow (!!!) I would have probably posted this later in the month.
October 2018 will officially be one of my favorite months because...
I PASSED THE UTAH BAR EXAM!
K, I actually found out late September, but I decided to be silent about it on social media platforms out of respect for my classmates who might not have passed. My family flew out to Salt Lake mid-October for my swearing in ceremony at the Utah State Capitol building—it was a less than 24 hours trip. The ceremony was so special, and surreal, and exceeded my expectations, you guys...valio la pena! I'm officially a lawyer now. The real deal. I still can't believe it at times. I did this! I accomplished one of my dreams!
Being back in California for October/Halloween festivities was strange. Where was the chilly weather? The occasional snowflakes? The leaves changing colors? Instead I had heat waves. Visits to the beach. & fall activities that didn't feel very fall-y. Also, I missed out on one of my favorite Halloween traditions: walking around BYU campus and spotting the most creative costumes.
October was also the month where I felt like I finally became part of my ward. I'm no longer the "new girl" and instead have been blessed with a dope set of friends. I don't know how long I'll be in this ward, so far my record in a given singles ward has been 3 years! But, that was when I was in Provo and only had to move a few apartments over before I'd find myself in new ward boundaries. Unless something drastic happens in the next little bit, I'm going to be in the El Dorado ward for the next little while. There's something nice about having a more permanent ward location. It'll be a new experience for sure, but I'm determined to make something of it!

My ward had a FHE trip to the pumpkin patch. I tend to do FHE with my family because I haven't been home for so long, but I couldn't pass on a pumpkin patch!
Tan is a true angel! We became instant friends at the pumpkin patch. She's the friendliest and hands down the most caring person I know! She's so considerate of the feelings of others and goes out of her way to make sure no one ever feels left out. I'm learning so much from her already!
Tan dressed up as Pocahontas for Halloween and while I was on a date at Downtown Disney, I spotted this Pocahontas pin and knew I had to get it for her.
Arielle helped me live my Halloween dream of being a calavera! She spent so much time putting the glitter on my face and making sure everything looked good. She definitely had to straddle me to make sure my makeup came out picture perfect, and I'm not even mad about it.
^^I ran into Allie at the Santa Monica Halloween Dance. Allie and I were next door neighbors before our missions way back in 2011-2012. We used to watch Once Upon a Time together every week and often sat next to each other at church. It was so fun catching up with her!
You better believe I was a concha for Halloween. I had so much fun making my costume. Still keeping my Latino-themed costume tradition alive.
